Taster Sessions


Soar Valley Western  Stables holds a local authority license with Blaby District Council. With this and our public liability insurance enables us to take children from the age of 4 years old out riding on the ponies.


Taster sessions are 20minutes and are of no cost, this gives the team to assess how best we can provide services to clients,particularly those that have complex needs such as Autism, Learning difficulties etc.






'Hands on' with horses

10am - 12pm


Gregg's Community Foundation have donated money so we can deliver a summer activity specifically for children in care and children from disadvantaged families.


Working with Supporting Leicestershire Families it is hoped that we can give children an opportunity to do something that that they would be unable to do because of poverty and finance.

Festival of light and death

A million people take their own lives every year. 2o million attempt suicide. Many many more think about it. In any room of a hundred people, several will have suicidal thoughts.  

Suicide rates have risen 60% in the past 45 years. The fastest rising rates of suicide are among children, teenagers and young adults.


Soar Valley Western is hosting as a venue to support the Festival of Light and Death.

This is an open event that will be free.

Find out about the process of learning through experience, it can be defined as "learning through reflection on doing" This Hands-on learning approach is a great insight as to what the team can provide for vulnerable young people.


Sometimes we are blinkered by our own training, this gives you the opportunity to experience something you may have never had the opportunity to do. It may help you to learn more about your own beliefs and why we think the way we do.
